Interested in Cyber Security?

I found a new website that I am excited to share about!

TryHackMe is a web-based learning platform that is dedicated strictly to teaching cyber security and promoting ethical hacking!

It doesn’t matter if you are a complete newbie (like me) or if you come with experience, the website is very user-friendly!

Careers in Cyber Security

Cyber Security refers to the people, processes, and technologies that work together to prevent networks and computer systems from unauthorized access in order to the data stored. Thanks to the Internet, cyber security is a critical component for virtually every industry in this digital age! Here are just a few of the possible job titles in cyber security:

  • Information Technology (IT) Technician- IT techs are the network, printer, and computer support providers in an organization.
  • IT Security Specialist– IT Security Specialists assess potential security threats to a computer system, monitor the company’s system for security violations and help create and implement network security systems.
  • Systems Administrator– Systems administrators ensure the proper maintenance, operation and configuration of computer systems. 
  • Security Consultant- Security consultants provide various security services for their clients, including analysis, identification and creation of security solutions.
  • Security Analysts– Security analysts use their analytical abilities to identify and fix any issues in a company’s security programs and systems.
  • Software Engineer– Software engineers find issues within a computer system to help improve its overall quality and performance.
  • Security Engineer– Security engineers implement and help improve an organization’s security measures, respond to security breaches, troubleshoot network problems, and identify a network’s vulnerabilities. 
  • Chief Information Officer (CIO)– CIOs oversee a company’s IT department, set the department’s strategies and objectives, implement the right technology to help with internal operations, and ensure the implementation of computer technologies and information.
