Solar Eclipse: April 2024

I hope you were able to watch the total lunar eclipse today!

From Iowa, the totality was only 88% at the most, but we enjoyed laying out in the sun and watching it all go down!

We had solar eclipse glasses that we got from Casey’s General Store last week, a thick dark green glass plate, and some extra dark welding glasses to share with friends!

Check out these cool pictures I got using my phone camera! I hope you remembered that the eclipse can be harmful to your phone camera as well as your eyes- I used the glasses and the glass plate to filter out the bright sunlight, and got some cool little visuals alongside the sun in the shots

Can you see the little crescents in the picture? Very cool!

New Moon & Solar Eclipse in Aries

One of my favorite apps, The Pattern, had this to say about this rare event:

On March 25th, there was a full moon in Libra and lunar eclipse, and that was the moment that we entered the eclipse portal. And we've been in it for the last two weeks. And that full moon lunar eclipse in Libra was a karmic moment. It was meant to shed a light on the truth of your relationships. That could be friendships, business partnerships, family, but more specifically about your romantic intimate relationships. And it's meant to help you let go of anything or anyone that needs to be released. Whenever you're in an eclipse portal, it's really trying to transform your life and push you forward in the most progressive and healthy ways. And it was a South Node Eclipse, so it was focused on the past, people, behaviors and mindsets related to old ways of thinking. These two weeks were meant to be a time of massive transformation, of radical change, possibly even revelation. It's a very charged time and your intuition might have been more active and your emotions are heightened. Anything superficial, anything holding you back from being your authentic self can come up and there can be massive psychological breakthroughs. This is when all relationship issues are meant to come to a head. For some, this portal might have been explosive. And for others, perhaps it's been healing and redemptive and you found closure. Because it's about synchronistic things, unexpected things, running into somebody from your past. But anything that happens is helping you on your path towards authentic relationships. And it's about helping you let go of things that are holding you back. So don't be surprised if these couple of weeks have been packed with feelings and radical shifts. Just allow it to unfold and trust what's happening. And now, with this week's solar eclipse, the portal is coming to an end. The period of intense transition and transformation has taken place, and it's meant to propel you forward, and the effects will reveal themselves over the coming weeks and months.
